With the exception of this past plague filled year, the Academy Awards were usually held in March, so I’ve always associated this last vestige of winter as the time to watch any films associated with the Oscars. Despite the actual awards being presented on April 25th this year, I still plan on dedicating a good amount of time to award winning/nominated films this month. Most of my Tuesday essays this month will focus in some way or another on such films, and my Friday Quick Reviews will shine a light on movies from 1992 that featured stars who would one day either go on to win or be nominated for Academy Awards. As a new feature, Sundays will now be home to reviews from movies from The Criterion Collection, so be on the lookout for those as well.
